DB Aviation, one of the nation’s largest aviation services firms, broke ground on a state-of-the-art 43,000-square-foot hangar on May 8, at the DB Aviation facility at Waukegan Regional Airport (UGN). The new hangar, Delta 2, will be able to fit aircraft up to the size of a Bombardier Global Express and accommodate 5,500 square feet of office space. The facility is scheduled to open on Dec. 1, 2008.
Those attending the ceremony included City of Waukegan Mayor Richard H. Hyde; Carole Dore, executive director of the Waukegan Business Association; Rick Larsen, City of Waukegan 8th Ward alderman; Duncan Henderson, executive director of the Waukegan Port District; and Mark Schiller, vice president of Spring Bluff Industries.
“DB Aviation is committed to providing the finest facilities to our customers,” said David Brittsan, president of the company. “The recent growth in the general aviation industry mirrors DB Aviation’s aggressive growth goals. Delta 2 will allow DB Aviation to meet the increasing demand for hangar space at Waukegan Regional Airport and in the Chicagoland area.
