The Country Dinner Playhouse’s newest entrée opened September 7 and will run through November 6. This delicious musical percolates with energy, wit and toe-tapping, foot-stomping renditions of more than 30 “Fats” Waller classics including “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Squeeze Me,” “Black and Blue,” and “I’ve Got a Feeling I’m Falling.” Waller, a giant man weighing around 300 pounds, wrote more than 500 songs, moving from the back room clubs of Harlem to become one of the most popular musicians of the 1920s and 1930s. Lots of piano jazz and swing, and having a distinctive comedy entertainer style, he composed scores for Broadway shows and feature films.

The cast of five have superb talent in their singing, dancing and passion for their work. Waller would be proud!
