Over 300 guests attended Airport Journals’ open house on June 15, giving area businesses and community leaders the opportunity to visit Airport Journals’ unique hangar offices at Centennial Airport. Outback Steakhouse, Tonti’s Pizzeria and Chicago Mike’s provided food, and Highlands Wine Sellers featured some unique wines for a wine tasting.

Robert Olislagers, Centennial airport director, was given the 2005 Top Flight Business Leadership Award, and Rick Adam, founder and chairman of Adam Aircraft, was awarded Airport Journals’ Michael Chowdry Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In a little over five years, Airport Journals has gone from one airport community newspaper, Centennial Aviation & Business Journal, to 11.

Special guests included Nick Carter, Channel 9, and Mike Silva, who landed Channel 4’s news helicopter in front of Airport Journals’ hangar and visited with Airport Journals columnist Cliff Robertson.
