Erie Municipal/Tri County Airport had a fly-in May 18 and 19.
Held in conjunction with the Erie Town Fair and sponsored by Specialty Flight Training, Inc., the fly-in included static displays of aerobatic aircraft, T-6s and a Stearman, as well as a turbo-jet powered R/C flight demo.
The Town of Erie, which sponsored events in town, also sponsored a balloon launch.
Besides a variety of safety seminars, the weekend included Young Eagle flights, courtesy of EAA Chapter 43. An entrepreneurial Ag pilot offered rides in his Grumman AgCat.
- Two T-9s, both based at Centennial Airport, were on static display, including this recently restored one owned by Bob Estock.
- Jerry Schofield, owner of Tri-Counter Hangars at 48V, showed his “Spirit of Erie” race car and aircraft.
