More than 800 attendees enjoyed the Porsche Business Aircraft & Jet Preview held at Republic Airport (FRG).
On Aug. 23, 2007, more than 800 attendees visited the Porsche Business Aircraft & Jet Preview, held at Republic Airport (FRG) in Farmingdale, NY. Eight Porsche dealers, including Legend Autorama, Manhattan Motorcars, New Country Porsche of Greenwich, Porsche of Huntington, Porsche of Roslyn, Riverhead Bay Motors, South Shore Porsche and Storms Motors participated in the aircraft static display and the Porsche driving event. One of the runways was closed to aircraft as Porsche set up a race course with slaloms and straight-aways. “No Speed Limit” with room to accelerate provided the venue for a very memorable experience. Attendees drove their Porsche model of choice with a professional Porsche driving instructor riding shotgun. Th en the instructor drove a lap with attendee riding shotgun anddemonstrated the best way to maneuver the course.
121 In-Flight Catering catered the event with elegance and style. Cessna Aircraft had a lineup of Cessna products; other aircraft on display included a TBM, Piper Meridian, Dassault 900EX, Hawker 800XP, Challenger and a King Air 90. Grob Aerospace, Halcyon Jets, JetDirect Charter, Jet Fleet International, Executive Jet Management, Flight Options, Worldwide Jets, Columbia Aircraft Sales, J.P. Morgan and Mooney all participated in the event.
Atlantic Aviation provided the staging and aircraft towing. SheltAir sponsored the lunch, much appreciated by all. Quo Vadis, Vantage Pointe International, Center Capital Corp, Air Cell, Vitesse Aviation and Residential Cruise Lines were among the exhibitors. “At least one-third of the people I spoke to today were serious buyers,” said Ken Dono of Columbia Aircraft Sales. “I know that from their questions, which only aircraft owner/operators ask. I’ll defi nitely make a sale from today’s show.”
