I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles program. In December 2002, I interviewed Academy award winning actor Cliff Robertson, Young Eagles’ founding chairman, who I’m proud to say now writes a popular column for Airport Journals. In late 2003, we featured the Young Eagles chairman at the time, Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager, shortly before the Young Eagles met their initial goal of flying one million youth.
In July, thanks to Elissa Lines, EAA vice president of development, and Steve Buss, Young Eagles executive director, I had the pleasure of interviewing the present chairman, Harrison Ford. The interview took place during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2005, which I attended with my sister, Sandy Pluhacek, and which we both thoroughly enjoyed! To read about Harrison Ford’s passion for aviation, see page 4-B. For our other AirVenture coverage, see page 3-C and page 10-C.
