With its festive open house celebration at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, Calif., on June 16, Jet Source proudly pioneers a path for investing in renewable energy technologies. The only FBO with internal capabilities to support the operational needs of corporate aircraft at one location, Jet Source flipped the switch with its new, 174kW(DC) and 142 kW(DC) Solar Power Systems, using modules manufactured by Shell Solar Industries.

The $9 million renovation includes the removal of the two older hangars to make way for increased customer parking, a new fuel farm and state-of-the-art hangar/office space. The Business Aviation Center is currently available for aircraft tenants and can accommodate the largest of wide body aircraft such as the Gulfstream V. The new hangar also serves as the new home of the Jet Source Class III and IV Unlimited Maintenance and Avionics Repair Stations.

“This expansion adds needed space to support the unprecedented growth we’ve experienced this past year, but more importantly, it confirms our commitment to providing our customers with an all-inclusive, first-class facility,” said Frank Milian, Jet Source president and chief operating officer.
