The Eclipse 500 continues to draw a crowd and set new sales records at the Business Aircraft & Jet Previews.

The sun peeked out for two days, after Northern California had mingled in mud and rain for 54 straight days—just enough time to give 750 aviators, business flight departments and aircraft enthusiasts enough time for vendors and aircraft manufacturers to display their products at the Saab Business Aircraft and Jet Preview on March 20.

The Eclipse aircraft is always a big draw, and that day was no exception. Raytheon’s Premier One, Cessna, Cirrus, Piaggio and the King Air were just a few of the many aircraft shown to the crowd. Our host, Ascend Development, in conjunction with Trajen Networks FBO, helped lay out the fanfare, and Saab (“Born from Jets”) displayed their exciting cars and models, giving test drives right by the hangar. Jetfinity presented a wonderful array of food, and the service and food was plentiful and served up with a smile.

Northern California aviators enjoyed the hospitality of Airport Journals’ staff, as well as the great hospitality of South Bay Helicopters, who took Linsey and Laurie Lips up in a helicopter to shoot some aerial pictures. The San Francisco Bay and its majestic buildings and a ride under and over the Golden Gate Bridge were memorable as well. Northern California has become the home of the newest Airport Journal—the Northern California Aviation & Business Journal—so it’s fitting that Hayward Executive Airport (HWD) be highlighted with a Jet Preview as we add another segment to our family of Journals.

The Briggs family, with Ascend Development, helped bring the show together. It was announced that same day that Trajen was being sold to Atlantic Aviation.

Our future Jet Previews in the Bay Area will grow, just as they have in other already tried and tested markets, and we look forward to welcoming new subscribers and readers.
